This interview took place on Saturday October 2nd 1999 in the game room of the "Tap Room" located in the Historic Fitger's Complex in downtown Duluth, this is Part 1 of the interview.
Local Public Access TV personalities Jonny D & Kenny K were asked by the late John Bonneville, owner of the Tap Room to conduct an interview of the band. It turned out to be just one band member, vocalist Kevin Dubrow, Kevin was outstanding we joked with him, he was friendly, seemed very relaxed and willing to talk, which he did very well revealing some long lost kept secrets, like Duluth being the very first city the band played as they began a tour with The Scorpions. Kevin Dubrow was not a household name amongst rock singers but the songs he sang and his vocals are undoubtedly one of the most recognizable. And in this interview you'll understand how much he loved what he did and how much his friends and his family meant to him. We hurt knowing he's passed away, but we are so damn glad that he took some time to hang with a couple of "average guys" and talk about a marvelous life he was living.

Just a quick and simple tribute to Kevin Dubrow, who died too young at 52 on November 19, 2007 of a cocaine overdose. I have always been a fan of Quiet Riot and although they are labeled as one hit wonders, I find that to be a crap label. QR had many good songs, Sign of the Times among them. I think Kevin stayed true to metal through the years, and no one can deny his powerful voice and their small, brief but yet important impact on heavy metal and the music industry. QR had the first #1 metal album on the Billboard chart and no one can ever take that away from them. Their legacy for that will live on, and in that, the legacy of Kevin and the mask will live on as well. "Long live rock and roll!"

Kevin DuBrow was one of my favorite Heavy Metal/Hard Rock singers. He will be missed.
From Wikipedia:
On November 25, 2007, it was reported on The Vegas Eye website that Kevin DuBrow was found dead in his apartment that day in Las Vegas. Drummer Frankie Banali confirmed DuBrow's death in an email to Spain's The Metal Circus. Banali wrote:
"Please respect my privacy as I mourn the passing and honor the memory of my dearest friend Kevin DuBrow."
These initial reports were confirmed by local authorities and reported by major news outlets on November 26, 2007. The cause of death has yet to be reported.

Without Kevin Dubrow and Quiet Riot you would not have Metal or at least what we Define as Metal and 80's Rock Period."I can remember seeing QUIET RIOT live at various arenas in the Bay Area and one show I will never forget — QUIET RIOT at the Omni at the height of the PEARL JAM flannel, I-am-cooler- than-you -because-I-wear -Doc-Martins, I-am-too-cool-for -metal-or- anything-that -does-not-fit- my-trend [era] — yeah, that time, you trendy fucks. So back to the Omni in the '90s. The metal masses came out in force to see QUIET RIOT in Oakland — yep, all 20 of us. It was a horrible turnout, but the ones who did show up caught the original lineup doing all the hits. Like a private concert for those lucky enough to venture into Oakland's mean streets.
"QUIET RIOT paid their dues and even bucked trends and lasted 'till this day in November — the day I found out Kevin DuBrow passed away.
"I can remember him being larger than life and very funny, with a quick wit and always a story. He was a friend to the show and a true gentlemen.
"I will crank up the tunes and bang my head like it was the '80s again. Yep, dust off my metal spikeband and remember my teen years. How they were filled with angst and rebellion. The only thing that got me threw those teenage years was my love for metal and music.
"Thanks, Kevin. Cheers!! R.I.P., brother."

I was fortunate enought to get passes for the field and was right in front of the stage. The guys showed up just in time to play as their plane was delayed somewhere in the midwest.
