Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water - 353 sec
"Bridge Over Troubled Water" performed by Simon & Garfunkel in December 2003 in Madison Square Garden, New York during the "Old friends: Live On Stage" tour. ----------------------------------------- MY OPINION IN THE PAUL SIMON-DEBATE BELOW There's a lot of arguing going on about whether Paul Simon did or didn't "ruin" the song in this clip. I say, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel make an excellent duo. They started out as a duo, succeeded as a duo and will be remembered as the great duo they are. Obviously, there are two part of this duo, both contributing to this (and many other) masterpiece(s) in their own way. Sure, Paul tried to do something different with the song this time, which some may find irritating, but without him this song wouldn't even exist, and neither would this duo. Whether Paul ruined this song or not is a matter of opinion. I think of it like this; his way of performing this song this time is his way to interpret it, and after all, since he wrote the song, he knows it better than anyone else. Art did a wonderful job singing this, both in studio, in this clip, and every other time he has sung it, and he sure deserves cred for that as well as Paul deserves cred for writing it and, principally, creating the magic behind it. But after all; why complain? Even if you dislike the way Paul sings the song this time, I think you would find it very hard to honestly say that the song is ruined, or anywhere near that. So; why waste your time on complaining when you might as well accept this version and enjoy it? (I apologize for eventual language errors since English isn't my first language. Feel free to correct me if anything is written incorrectly)

Simon & Garfunkel - Old Friends - 332 sec
From my personal favorite concert in Central Park, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel singing Old Friends. The vocals are just amazing. Someone requested the lyrics, so here they are: OLD FRIENDS LYRICS: Old friends, Old friends Sat on their park bench Like bookends. A newspaper blown though the grass Falls on the round toes Of the high shoes Of the old friends. Old friends, Winter companions, The old men Lost in their overcoats, Waiting for the sunset. The sounds of the city, Sifting through trees, Settle like dust On the shoulders Of the old friends. Can you imagine us Years from today, Sharing a park bench quietly? How terribly strange To be seventy. Old friends, Memory brushes the same years Silently sharing the same fears BOOKENDS LYRICS: Time it was and what a time it was it was, A time of innocence a time of confidences. Long ago it must be, I have a photograph Preserve your memories, theyre all thats left you 59TH STREET BRIDGE SONG (FEELIN' GROOVY) LYRICS: Slow down, you move too fast. You got to make the morning last. Just kicking down the cobble stones. Looking for fun and feelin' groovy. Ba da, Ba da, Ba da, Ba da...Feelin' Groovy. Hello lamp-post, What cha knowin'? I've come to watch your flowers growin'. Ain't cha got no rhymes for me? Doot-in' doo-doo, Feelin' groovy. I've got no deeds to do, No promises to keep. I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep. Let the morning time drop all its petals on me. Life, I love you, All is groovy.

Simon & Garfunkel Scarborough Fair - 381 sec
Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme Remember me to one who lives there She once was a true love of mine Tell her to make me a cambric shirt (On the side of a hill in the deep forest green) Parsely, sage, rosemary & thyme (Tracing a sparrow on snow-crested ground) Without no seams nor needlework (Blankets and bedclothes a child of the mountains) Then she'll be a true love of mine (Sleeps unaware of the clarion call) Tell her to find me an acre of land (On the side of a hill, a sprinkling of leaves) Parsely, sage, rosemary, & thyme (Washed is the ground with so many tears) Between the salt water and the sea strand (A soldier cleans and polishes a gun) Then she'll be a true love of mine Tell her to reap it in a sickle of leather (War bellows, blazing in scarlet battalions) Parsely, sage, rosemary & thyme (Generals order their soldiers to kill) And to gather it all in a bunch of heather (And to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten) Then she'll be a true love of mine Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme Remember me to one who lives there She once was a true love of mine.

Crying in the Rain - Art Garfunkel - 220 sec
Art Garfunkel with James Taylor This video was made using clips from the movie The White Silk Dress. The White Silk Dress (Áo lụa Hà Đông in Vietnamese) is an acclaimed 2007 Vietnamese war-drama epic directed by Luu Huynh and starring Truong Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Quoc Khanh. The story begins in Ha Dong, northern Vietnam in 1954, amidst the crumbling of French colonial rule in Vietnam. Dan and Gu are lovers as well as servants from different households who suffer at the hands of their cruel masters. When Gu's master is assassinated, Dan and Gu flee south, eventually ending up in the central Vietnamese seaside town of Hoi An. Once there, they raise a family, with Dan eventually giving birth to four girls. Though poverty stricken, the family loves and supports each other, though the horrors of the encroaching war threaten to tear them apart. The story emphasizes the importance of a white silk áo dài that Gu had given to Dan as a wedding gift before they had fled south, with promises of a proper marriage someday in the future. Years later in Hoi An, Dan must sacrifice this one valued possession (amongst other shocking hardships and humiliations she must endure) to support her family and provide for her daughters the áo dài required to attend school. The film is ultimately a tribute to the strength and heart of the Vietnamese woman, as symbolized through the áo dài. Arthur Ira Garfunkel (born November 5, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter and actor of Romanian Jewish ancestry, best known as half of the Grammy Award winning folk duo Simon & Garfunkel. In 1963 he and Simon reformed their duo under their own names as "Simon and Garfunkel" and released their first album, Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. on Columbia Records in October 1964. It was not a critical success, and the duo subsequently split again. The next year, producer Tom Wilson lifted the song "The Sound of Silence" from the record, dubbed an electric backing onto it, and released it as a single that went to #1 on the Billboard pop charts. Simon and Garfunkel reunited and went on to become one of the most popular acts of the 1960s, releasing five studio albums. Citing personal differences and divergence in career interests, they split following the release of their most critically acclaimed album, Bridge over Troubled Water, in 1970. After attending Leicester University in the 1970s, Garfunkel released several solo albums. He scored hits with "I Only Have Eyes For You." (a 1934 song written by Harry Warren[1]) and "Bright Eyes" (both British #1 hit singles), and "All I Know" (#9 in the United States). A version of "Bright Eyes" also appeared in the movie (based on the famous novel) Watership Down. Garfunkel briefly reunited with Paul Simon in the 1975 hit "My Little Town". During this time, he also starred in major motion pictures Catch-22 and Carnal Knowledge (1971). Following disappointing sales of his 1981 album Scissors Cut, Garfunkel reunited with Simon for The Concert in Central Park and a world tour. They had disagreements during the tour, and Simon excluded Garfunkel's voice from a new album, initially slated to be a Simon and Garfunkel album, but released as a Simon solo album (Hearts and Bones)[citation needed]. Garfunkel then left the music scene until his 1988 album, Lefty and later 1993's Up 'til Now, neither of which received significant critical or commercial success. His live 1996 concert Across America, recorded at the registry hall on Ellis Island features musical guests James Taylor, Garfunkel's wife, Kim, and his son James. Garfunkel performed the theme song for the 1991 television series, Brooklyn Bridge, and "The Ballad of Buster Baxter" for a 1998 episode of the children's educational television series Arthur, where he was depicted as a singing/narrator moose.[3] Garfunkel's performance of Monty Python member Eric Idle's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" was used in the end credits of the 1997 film As Good as It Gets. In 2003, Garfunkel made his debut as a songwriter on his Everything Waits to Be Noticed album. Teaming up with singer-songwriters Maia Sharp and Buddy Mondlock, the album contained several songs whose origins were poems written by Garfunkel. The album is recognized as his first effort at songwriting since his teenage years with Tom & Jerry. In 2003, Simon and Garfunkel reunited again for a successful world tour that extended into 2004. In 2005, his song "Sometimes When I'm Dreaming" from The Art Garfunkel Album (1984) (written by Mike Batt) was re-recorded by ex-ABBA singer Agnetha Fältskog on her album My Colouring Book. In 2006, Garfunkel signed with Rhino Records (revived Atco Records), and his first Rhino/Atco album Some Enchanted Evening was released in America on January 30, 2007.[4] In late February 2007 during a German television interview to promote the new album, he expressed interest in reuniting with Paul Simon on a new Simon and Garfunkel album.
