The premiere of the revival featured the same cast that was later filmed for the commercially available DVD with Svetlana Zakharova as the Princess Aspicia. Filmed May 5, 2000 with Nina Ananiashvili as the Princess Aspicia.
Grand pas d'action (chor. by Lacotte, unless otherwise noted)
1. Entrée
2. Variation I (chor. by Petipa, reconstructed from notation)
3. Variation II (music by Drigo, chor. by Petipa, reconstructed from notation)
4. Variation III (this variation was showed to Lacotte by Alexander Volonine, Anna Pavlova's principal partner for some years. The chor. is likely by one of the leading male dancers of the Mariinsky at the turn of the 20th century, or perhaps by Christian Johansson)
5. Grand pas (staged in a wonderfully colossal manner by Lacotte à la Petipa)
The 'Grand pas d'action' (referred to as the 'Grand defile suite' in the booklet that accompanies the commercially available DVD) is the only part of Lacotte's revival of "The Pharaoh's Daughter" to contain Marius Petipa's choreography. 3 of the dances were reconstructed from the choreographic notation of the 'Sergeyev Collection', which includes notation of Petipa's choreography for his final revival of "The Pharaoh's Daughter' from 1898 (the notations, however, were created a few years after). Pierre Lacotte missed out an an extremely historic opportunity by not staging as much of Petipa's choreography as possible, and his revival, admirable as it may be, is just not as wonderous as it could have been.
Nevertheless, this rather behemoth 'Grand pas' is perhaps the best part of the entire ballet. ENJOY! Contrary to popular belief, demi-character ballets such as this were Petipa's most common output. His ballets were always wonderful combinations of the character and classical canon, all of course used as a tool to ultimately tell the story.
Petipa created "Le Halte de cavalerie" for Pierina Legnani (the world's first Prima Ballerina Assoluta) who performed the role of Theresa, and his daughter Marie Petipa (the first Lilac Fairy in "The Sleeping Beauty") who performed the character role of Marie. The original cast also included the great premier danseur noble Pavel Gerdt as Pierre and Alfred Bekefi (the first Councilor Drosselmeyer in "The Nutcracker") as the Captain.
It is significant to note that the Sergeyev Collection, held in the Harvard University Library's Theatre Collection, contains Petipa's original choreography among the choreographic notation.

It must be noted that the choreography does not contain one step of Petipa, and Pugni's music is presented in a re-orchestration.
Unfortunately Lacotte did not want to reconstruct Petipa's choreography, which was notated not long after his final revival of 1898 in the Stepanov method of dance notation and is now included in the Sergeyev Collection @ Harvard Univeristy's theatre library. The notations are rather vague for the most part, but they do include enough detail to reconstruct the principal roles and some of the corps de ballet's movements. NOTE - You might notice that the music that accompanies the final "danse générale" is also used for the coda of the so-called "La Fille mal gardée pas de deux" from the old Petipa/Ivanov/Gorsky/Hertel version of the ballet. The version of "La Fille mal gardée pas de deux" that is traditionally danced today at galas and ballet competitions is actually the creation of Alexander Gorsky, who utilized this piece from Armsheimer's music when he staged his version of the pas in the early 20th century.

Choreography by Marius Petipa (reconstructed by Sergei Vikharev from the choreographic notation of the Sergeyev Collection. The programs produced by the Mariinsky for this ballet credit Lev Ivanov jointly with Petipa for the choreography, which is not correct). Music by Maestro Riccardo Eugenio Drigo.
This ballet was originally created for the celebrations held at the Imperial Theatre of Peterhof in honor of the wedding of the Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna (daughter of Tsar Alexandr III & sister of Tsar Nicholas II) to the Grand Duke Alexandr Mikhailovich. Premiered 9 August [O.S. 28 July] 1894, with the Prima Ballerina Assoluta Mathilde Kschessinakaya as Flora.
Here we have Eugeniia Obraztsova as Flora, Goddess of the Flowers; & Xenia Ostreikovskaya as the Aurora, Goddess of the Dawn. The waltz ends with a lovely révérence to the Imperial family (who were fanatic balletomanes, & in attendance at the 1st performance of "The Awakeing of Flora" in 1894).
I would like to share with all my fellow balletomane-youtubers this beautiful, simple waltz, set to Drigo's gorgeous and melodious music.

Unfortunately Eugenia Obratzova never really allows herself to "be the ballerina" while performing here. One element of the genius of Petipa's choreography for the character of Flora can be seen here by his ability to allow the ballerina to add her own touches. Mathilde Kschessinskaya, who created the role of Flora in 1894, was one of the greatest virtuosas of classical choreography that has ever lived, & surely milked it for all it was worth. For some reason Obraztsova merely executes the steps here, & at no point does she really ever give any panache to the choreography. In some places she is even off the music to an odd degree. But this was the first time this ballet had been performed at the Mariinsky Theatre in almost 100 years, & I have no doubt she was nervous performing true Petipa in "Petipa's house" in front of the most distinguished persons of the Russian ballet. Also, she may have strove to merely present the choreographic text unembellished for the sake of demonstrating true "pure Petipa" to the audience.
Here we have Eugeniia Obraztsova as Flora, Goddess of the Flowers; Vladimir Shkliarov as Zephyr, God of the west wind, Maxim Chaschegorov as Apollo, God of the day; & Valeria Martynyuk as Cupid.
