The Eighth of my Re-enactment series.
This is one of my favorite scenes from any movie. It's from the film Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. In it, Steve Martin is trying to get home for Thanksgiving. He meets John Candy through chance, and just can't see to get rid of him as he tries to make it home before the holidays.
In this scene, they stay in a motel room together. After John Candy clears his sinuses for a few minutes, Steve Martin finally snaps and goes off on how annoying he is.
Long live John Candy, comic genius.
And Steve Martin too... I love him, but... Cheaper by the Dozen 2?
Oh well.

Dionne Warwick's hit single Trains and Boats and Planes was recorded in 1966 and released on the Scepter label in June 1966. It entered the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart on July 2, 1966. The tune peaked at #22. Dionne's recording contains the original vocal bridge as composed by Bacharach and often heard in other versions as an instrumental bridge, due to the difficulty of the leap in octive required to vocalize the bridge properly. Dionne had the tremendous vocal chops to sing the tune the way Bacharach composed it. Another classic radio tune from possibly the most successful singer/songwriting team in the history of popular music.
