Psychosis (TurboGrafx-16) - 88 sec
WWW.VIRTUAL-TURBO.COM - Here's some gameplay footage of the TurboGrafx-16 shooter "Psychosis." It's a decent shooter but it's pretty average overall. The one thing it has going for it is it's high degree of difficulty.

Lost to Time: Turbografx-16 - 336 sec
It's another stopgap video! Hooray! While I decide what I'll do for the next video (a Boom Blox review, perhaps...?), here's a retrospective of the Turbografx-16, NEC and Hudson Soft's would-be contender to the Sega Genesis. It may only be an 8-bit system, but some of its games are incredibly impressive despite that handicap. OutRun gets more miles to the gallon than its Genesis counterpart, and Operation Wolf is so close to the arcade version that you'd think the two were identical at first glance. Each game in the video has been appropriately labeled, and I've spiced up the footage with excerpts from the old Johnny Turbo comic (taken from the now defunct COTI web site) and musical accompaniment from Judas Priest. So put down that controller, pick up that air guitar, and get ready to rock out with your favorite private part out!

Bloody Wolf (Turbografx 16) - 208 sec
An overhead view military shoot em up ported to the Turbografx 16/PCE by NEC, originally, it's by Data East, the same people who brought us Karate Champ, Karnov, Heavy Barrel, Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja, and Fighters History (which got them in legal hot water with Capcom over half a decade ago) Enter "Snake" and "Eagle", two commandos engaging in guerilla warfare to rescue the President who's been kidnapped and held hostage by an insane dictator.

My NEC/Hudson Soft Stuff (Turbografx 16/PC Engine/Turbo Duo) - 257 sec
Showing off my NEC stuff. I've been getting alot of newb comments and PM's from people regarding my Valis IV and Dracula X videos because they never heard of the system before. So why not end it now? Here's what it looks like...one of the few variations of it anyway, in Japan, the PC Engine came in many forms while in America there was only three. I will tell some of why the Turbografx 16/Turbo Duo failed, and Nintendo of America is partially the one to blame. Because they were already at war with Sega, they had an anti-competitive and monopolistic strategy of hoarding third party developers and telling them they couldn't make software for any other system than theirs. By the time the mid 1990's rolled around, the strategy was later then ruled illegal. Unfortunately, the American branches of the third party developers we're all familiar with still didn't give a damn about the Turbo Duo and stuck to the Super Nintendo and Genesis. Which explains why we never saw any Konami games on the TG16, and Capcom arcade classics getting ported on the TG16 either by NEC or no-name developers. Dozens of Japanese PC Engine titles were slated for USA release but the plans all got axed due to their lack of interest. So like the Sega Saturn, if people have that mindset that Turbografx 16 sucks because of its selection of games (don't get me wrong, TG16 had a bit over a handful of good games), they need to wake up and buy some Japanese PC Engine imports. It's also said (don't quote me on that) that in Europe, particularly in France, the PC Engine had a decent sized fanbase as Japan did. Games were commercially sold with separate documents of the instruction manuals translated from Japanese to French. Compatibility is one thing that's confusing in the world of NEC systems, especially the models preceding the "Duo" subset. When it comes to HuCards, there is region lockout. Since my PC Engine Duo-R is a Japanese only model, my Duo-R is custom installed with a region switch so I can play TG16 Hucards, otherwise I'd have to buy uber expensive Hucard converters. However, the upside is that the CDROM is region free. But there are several different formats for the CDROM. Those will be covered in a future video. In case people are wondering what that bg noise is, it's the movie "Patton" showing on AMC. (American Movie Classics) Turbografx 16 Hucards (USA): Ninja Spirit, Tiger Road, Sidearms, Cosmic Fantasy II (CD), R-Type, Keith Courage, Bloody Wolf, Valis III (CD), Bonk's Adventure Japanese Hucards: Super Momotarou Densetsu II, Street Fighter II', Ninja Ryukenden/Gaiden, Genpei Toumaden II, Ninja Warriors, Youkai Douchuuki, Barunba, Jimmu Densyo, Son Son II, Salamander, Gradius, Dragon Spirit, Operation Wolf Japanese CDROM2 format - Valis IV, Final Zone II, Fighting Street, Red Alert, Record of Lodoss War II Super CDROM2: Riot Zone (USA), Double Dragon II, Tengai Makyo/Far East of Eden: Fuun Kabuki, Brandish, & Dracula X: Rondo of Blood

Ys 3 (Turbografx 16): All Bosses - 590 sec
I would have included the rest of the long ending, but I am limited to 10 minutes, so I'm sorry about that. Still, this is a video that shows you all of the game's bosses in order of appearance. Forgive me for cheap-shotting several of the bosses. Ys is like that, and if you can cheap shot a boss, you do so.

Godzilla (Turbografx-16): Last Two Battles - 412 sec
I had so many people request the ending of my old Godzilla movie (that got cut to ten minutes by Youtube policy) that I figured I should go back and finish it so I could show you the ending and one of the last bosses. I was shocked at how many views the first godzilla video generated and how positive the comments were, apparently a lot of people still love Godzilla. This makes me happy. If the response continues to grow, I'll go back through the game and take the second path through, showing the other half of the game's monsters. (Including Rodan and Mothra)
