Imam Ahmad relates from Anas (Allah be well pleased with him), with a chain of transmission all of whose narrators are those of Bukhari except Hammad ibn Salama, who is one of the narrators of Muslim, that
the Ethiopians danced in front of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace); dancing and saying [in their language], "Muhammad is a righteous servant." this is about sufies, not all sufies do this, not all sufies accept this, not all sufies belive in the same thing.
some sufies go far as to commmit kufr and shirk, all commit bidah.
they are a sect of Islam, not all of them are considered a sect some may just do small things which is not correct.
Some Sufis believe in wahdat al-wujood (unity of existence). They do not have the idea of a Creator and His creation, instead they say that everything is creation and everything is god.
The Sufis advocate extreme asceticism in this life and do not believe in taking the necessary means or in jihaad,
The Sufis refer the idea of ihsaan to their shaykhs and tell their followers to have a picture of their shaykh in mind when they remember Allaah and even when they are praying. Some of them even put a picture of their shaykh in front of them when they are praying.
The Sufis allow dancing, drums and musical instruments, and raising the voice when making dhikr, but Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Their salaah (prayer) at the House (of Allaah, i.e., the Ka'bah at Makkah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands..."

"The believers are only those who, when Allaah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts..." [al-Anfaal 8:2]

Ibn `Abidin (r) relates in his al Durr al mukhtar that Imam Abu Hanifa (r) said: 'If it were not for two years, I would have perished.' Ibn `Abidin comments:
For two years Imam Abu Hanifa (r)accompanied Sayyidina Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (r)the Great Grandson of Prophet Muhammad (saw) and a Great Sufi
Imam Abu Hanifa (r) acquired the spiritual knowledge from Sayyidina Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (r) that made Imam Abu Hanifa (r) a gnostic in the Way of Tasawwuf or Sufism
All Great Islamic Scholars Praise Tasawwuf (Sufism) the likes of Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (r), Imam Abu Hanifa (r), Imam Ghazali(r) ,Imam Shafi (r) , , Imam Hambal (r), Imam Malik (r) etc etc even the Salafi Giants like Ibn Qayyim Al- Jawzi and Ibn Tamyyia have written a great deal of literature IN Praise of Tasawwuf (Sufism).
One of the putative authorities of "Salafis" is Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, yet when Ibn Qayyim states something which contravenes what "Salafis" claim, they are at a loss that their own authority refutes them. Ibn Qayyim said in Madarij al-salikin (2:307):
Religion consists entirely of good character (al-dinu kulluhu khuluq). Whoever surpasses you in good character surpasses you in religion, and the same is true of Tasawwuf ( Sufism)
Imam Bukhari (R) quotes this Hadith
from Abdullah ibn Umar (Radiallhu Anhu) that the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) once prayed for Syria (Shaam) and Yemen. It is narrated that there were some people of Najd also present in the gathering and they requested the Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) to make du'a for Najd also.
The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) continued saying: "O! Allah, Shower Blessings on Shaam and Yemen," The people of Najd again requested the Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) to offer prayers for Najd.
The Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam)
said: "It ( Najd) is a place of tremor and
Fitna (Mischief) and the horn of Shaitaan will rise from there." ( Sahi Bukhari , Vol. ii, PP. 1050)
It can be deduced from the above Hadith that Najd ( Riyadh ) is neither blessed nor a good place but one of Fitna and Evil. Najd has been deprived of the prayers of the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) and therefore Najd has the seal of misery and misfortune and hoping for any good from there is going against the Will of Allah.
NOTE: NAJAD IS THE EASTERN PART OF ARABIA , PRESENTLY CALLED AS RIYADH THE CAPITAL OF HYPOCRITES WAHHABIS AND SALAFIS ,THE BIRTHPLACE OF THE GREAT DEVILS AND FITNAH IBN ABDUL WAHHAB AND THE PRESENT WAHHABI SALAFI SAUD DYNASTY
Sahl b. Hunaif reported Allah's Apostle Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam (may peace be upon him) as saying: There would arise from the east( Najd) a people with shaven heads. Sahi Muslim (Book #005, Hadith #2338)
Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) said "Nearing Qiyamah there will be a Group of people who will recite the Holy Quran but it will not go below their throats. They will leave the true Religion of Islam as fast as an arrow leaves the bow. They will be recognized by the shavings of their entire head and they will move in Groups and their last Group will emerge with Dajjal, when you meet them you will discover their nature and character, the worst of its kind." (Mishkat Shareef pp/309 - Prints may vary and pages may be different in other publications)

Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab had demanded NOT ONLY MEN BUT ALSO ALL WOMEN WHO ENTERED HIS WAHHABI AQEEDA THAT THEY SHOULD ALL SHAVE THEIR HEADS

His father, Pirouz , later called Abol Hasan, or Hasan's Father, in Arabic), was a Persian landowner in a village of Khuzestan who was enslaved during a military campaign of the Second Caliph, Umar(r), and taken back to Medina as mawali. In the course of dividing spoils of war, Pirouz, along with a damsel from his own village, was given to Umm Salama(ra) , a wife of Muhammad.
Umm Salama (ra) gifted both to one of her close relatives where both were ultimately wed and freed by the couple who received them.

Al-Hasan al-Basri (R) who was a great Salaf Sufi , admired and respected by all the great Salaf of his time .
' Hadrat Umar Farooq Radi Allahu ta'ala anhu the great Companion of Prophet Muhammad (saw) once supplicated for Al-Hasan al-Basri (R) with the words: "O Allah! Make him wise in the Religion and beloved to people."
All Great Islamic Scholars Praise him the likes of Imam Ghazali etc even the Salafi Giants like Ibn Qayyim Al- Jawzi and Ibn Tamyyia have written a great deal of literature in his Praise .
It it is Strange the modern day so called Salafi criticize the science of Spiritual purification of soul in Islam Tasawwuf Sufism followed by this Great Salaf and many other like him calling it as bad bidah or Innovation in Islam ? and yet call themselves Salafi ? but the fact is they do not follow the Salaf , they don't even follow their own Shayk Ul Islam Ibn Tammyia and His Student Ibn Qayyum Al -Jawzi who themselves where well versed in the science of Tasawwuf Sufism and where themselves Sufis and have written volumes of books on the lives of Sufi saints and Sufism , even though both have criticized some Sufis in certain aspects of Sufism but they where not against Tasawwuf Sufism in any way as they themselves claimed to be Sufis .
It is like Islamic Scholars criticizing other Scholars on the issue of Fiqh but that does not make them Anti Fiqh it is called as difference of opinion among the Scholars in Islam .
Note : it is absurd and clownish for any foolish Muslim to say the word Tasawwuf or Sufism was not there during the time of Prophet Muhammad (saw) so it is not part of Islam , it is like arguing that the word Fiqh was not there at Prophets (saw) time so it is not a part of Islam ?
The science of self purification ( spiritually) or Tasawwuf (Sufism) is based on the Sunnah and Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (saw) and the Commands of Allah in the Quran , even though Tasawwuf was there at time of Prophet Muhammad(saw) but it was not named as such
Later the Salaf gave this name to the part of Islam which deals with Self Purification ( spiritually) as Tasawwuf or Sufism
Just like the science of Fiqh legal rulings of the Muslim scholars, based on their knowledge of the shari`ah was there at the time of Companions of Prophet Muhammad (saw) but it not named as such
Later the Salaf gave the name Fiqh to that part of Islam which deals with rulings based on Islamic Shariah
